The successful company's history started on 1st of October, 1972 with the development of suction cup devices. That revolutionized the sheet transport and led to today's market standard.
First tasks consisted in solution for unusual requests like carton folder, chutes for tree-trunks and the first feeding for rack-carriages.
In 1977 the company moved to its today's location in Hemmoor and with this the focus in the contemporary task: being partner for "movement" in the woodworking industry.
This position was fortified by the entry into the Homag group in 1985. Useful synergies could be used. The introduction of the Bargstedt product range led to important advantages for our clients: complete production lines from one source for furniture and wood industry.
Today Bargstedt is one of the biggest employers of the region. The keyword in Bargstedt is logistics, thus the ability to transport things from one place to another. For Bargstedt it means to transport wooden boards, big and small ones, thick or thin ones, single boards, and boards in groups or in stacks from entry through a plant, i.e. the chain of operating machines up to the exit for finished products.
The complex machine systems including the electronically control for the processes are devised, designed and manufactured in Hemmoor. And this not only for serial production but also newly designed and adjusted to the individual needs of a customer. Bargstedt offers solutions that meet the requirements of the customers for the sectors storing, sorting, collating, transport, feeding and stacking.
"To move wood intelligently"
That is the slogan of Bargstedt Handlingsysteme GmbH. For more efficiency we have recently started the project "Bargstedt on course to an ideal manufactory". Increases in productivity and quality are achieved by means of optimized logistical conditions, flow-oriented workplace arrangements and short cycle times. A continuous apprenticeship and further education is taken for granted by the management.
We employ more than 20 apprentices. About 70 personnel are part of the research and development department. Our own software developer compile the programs for the electronically control of the transport lines. An own "Engineering-group" of high level attend to a project planning of special and individual manufacturing.
At the end of 2007 we started the project "Bargstedt on course to an ideal manufactory" in cooperation with Staufen AG the leading consultancy for process optimization beginning with the enlargement of the factory space by building a new production hall.
The realization of this project is the lane to an improved production process with optimum logistical conditions, flow-oriented workplace arrangements, short cycle times and the thus resulting productivity and quality increases. This will say complete customer satisfaction from the design up to the start-up of the Bargstedt products.
With the inauguration of the new production hall, 100 meters long, 20 meters wide and 9 meters high, the factory space in Hemmoor has been extended by almost 30 percent in the mid of 2008. With this extension of 2000 m² now are available 9000 m² for the production of various plants for the woodworking industry. This measurement not only increases the flexibility in the process of current projects but it enables the faster implementation of innovative technology products beside the conventional product spectrum. Bargstedt focuses in these ambitious technological projects as a support of success.
Bargstedt as unique manufacturer of material flow systems with an own software development offers latest solutions for all of its products, always adapted to the needs of the customers. Whether the conventional product groups like portals, compact machines and transports or innovative projects like batch size 1 lines and sorting and collating systems, each product group is continuously optimized. This is shown particularly in the fact that approximately 90 per cent of the production program is younger than 3 years.
With latest manufacturing technology and the use of recent software Bargstedt today is worldwide well known as a manufacturer for automatic feeding, transporting, stacking and storing.
